The Crossing

How the wisdom and beauty of ancient poetry can support us to step into the new year with courage and grace.

“I don’t want to step into another new year, with dread.
I do not want to shrink from our challenges, or seek refuge in blindness either.
I want to find a way to meet the new year with courage and grace.
How can the ancient poetry held in the Library of Love help me do that?”

In the great voices of the western mystical poetic tradition there is inspiration and insight to guide us.

In this special seven-part journey, Thomas Keily, the Head Librarian at The Library of Love, gives us a rare and intimate insight into the poetry of Walt Whitman, Elizabeth Barret-Browning, G.M Hopkins and more, and helps us understand how the legacy of this poetry is there to support us in these challenging times.

Each offering explores a different poem and a different theme. Each offering builds upon the one before it, taking us on a journey through courage, grief, dignity, compassion, surrender and ultimately into hope.

In the end, the individual poems will become short-hand hieroglyphs for entire worlds of meaning that will live within you. Collectively, the six poems will become a meditation on courage and empowerment, and will strike a beautiful tone to begin the new year with.

On each Wednesday and Sunday through the month you will receive a short audio-lecture unpacking a new poem, as well as the poem itself set to beautiful musical accompaniment.

The perfect gift for the curious and the courageous.
